West Virginia Childcare Training Requirements

All Care Courses are accepted for Non-STARS Training hours by the West Virginia State Training and Registry System (WV STARS). Care Courses may be used for up to 15 hours of Non-STARS training per renewal period. This means Care Courses training may be used for 15 out of the 45 hours required to renew your certificate every three years.   

Submit a completed Non-STARS Training Submission Form along with your Care Courses certificate(s) of completion to WV STARS to have your courses applied to to your WV STARS Learning History Record.

The West Virginia Handle With Care Mandated Reporter child abuse training is offered for free by the WV Center for Children's Justice.
