This course applies to infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

This course covers factors that influence a child's sense of self, their interactions with others, and their approach to learning. Learn how your behavior, positive interactions, and guidance can promote healthy social–emotional development in young children.

Learning outcomes
After completing Social–Emotional Development in Young Children you will be able to identify stages of social–emotional development in young children; explain factors that influence children’s skills for interacting with others, and that support their learning and sense of self; describe how children’s early experiences and social interactions in a child care setting and at home affect development; and discuss ways that your behaviors, attitudes, and positive interactions can promote children’s healthy social–emotional development and positive behavior.
