After completing Social–Emotional Development in Young Children you will be able to identify stages of social–emotional development in young children; explain factors that influence children’s skills for interacting with others, and that support their learning and sense of self; describe how children’s early experiences and social interactions in a child care setting and at home affect development; and discuss ways that your behaviors, attitudes, and positive interactions can promote children’s healthy social–emotional development and positive behavior.
