Use Care Courses towards national childcare credentials including the CDA credential and CDA, CCP or NAC renewal. Care Courses is an official training partner of the CDA Council for Professional Recognition.
All Care Courses* are accepted by New York State Office of Children and Family Services' (OCFS) continuing education training requirements for those who
work in child day care centers, family day care homes, group family day care homes and small day care centers.
This
includes staff, directors, group teachers, assistant teachers, owners, providers, caregivers, assistants and
substitutes.
Scholarship funding to participate in all Care Courses' training, including CDA credential training, may be available through the the Educational Incentive Program (EIP): learn more.
Please note: Care Courses may not be used for the New York required 15-hour pre-service health and safety training.
New York 30-Hour Childcare Trainings Covering All 10 Training Topics

What are New York Training Topics?
The New York Office of Children and Family Services requires that child care staff complete a minimum of 30
hours of continuing education every two years addressing the following ten topics:
Principles of childhood development, focusing on the development stages of the age groups for which the program
provides care
Nutrition and health needs of infants and children
Child day care program development
Safety and security procedures
Business record maintenance and management
Child abuse and maltreatment identification and prevention
Statutes and regulations pertaining to child day care
Statutes and regulations pertaining to child abuse and maltreatment
Education information on the identification, diagnosis and prevention of shaken baby syndrome
Adverse childhood experiences, focused on understanding trauma and on nurturing resiliency

All Care Courses are approved by the New York Aspire Registry. For Aspire Registry training credit, add your
Aspire registry ID number to your Care Courses account.
